Dental Hygienists are licensed oral health care professionals whose preventive services may help to limit the extent and progression of cavities and periodontal (gum) disease. In practice, we integrate the roles of clinician, educator, advocate, manager, administrator, and researcher to prevent oral disease and promote health within the parameters of the Washington State Dental Hygiene Practice Act.
